Recreation at Grapevine Lake

While weddings at Paradise Cove are our specialty, there are many things to do on and around Grapevine Lake that anyone can take advantage of. Since the early 1950's when the Lake was created, parks for day use and primitive camping, hiking and equestrian trails, marinas and boat ramps, swimming, and hunting/fishing have been developed providing a wealth of opportunities to enjoy the Lake.


  • Murrel Park - maintained by the Corps of Engineers, has picnic areas with fire rings, grill,tables and shelters. The part also has two boat ramps, trailer parking, camping, and the Northshore Trail for hiking. More info.
  • Twin Coves Park - provides RV and tent camping, boat ramp, courtesy dock, fishing dock, restrooms, swimming beach, and access to the Northshore Trail. More info.
  • Silverlake Park - managed by Marinas International, has picnic facilities, restroom, boat ramp, and fishing access. More info.
  • Meadowmere Park - operated by the City of Grapevine, has boat ramp, day use, group pvailion, playground, and swimming beach. More info.
  • Oak Grove Park - managed by the City of Grapevine, provides picnic sites, boat ramp, sports fields, jogging trail, playground, and group pavilion.
  • The Vineyards Campground - managed by the City of Grapevine, has RV and tent camping, coin, laundry, playground, group pavilions, cabins, boat ramp, courtesty dock, and fish cleaning station. More info.
  • Rockledge - operated by the City of Grapevine, has day use, a pavilion, playground, and access to the Northshore Trail head. More info.
  • Marshall Creek Park - operated by the Trophy Club, provides ORV trails, day use, boat ramp, and restrooms. More info.


There are an assortment of trails offered at Grapevine Lake for hikers, bikers, and equestrians. Hikers are welcome on all trails; Knob Hills and Northshore is designed for montain biking.

  • The City of Grapevine has developed 26 miles of trails for walking/hiking. More info.

  • There are three equestrian trails, but horses are not available for rent. More info.
  • The Corps of Engineers manages two mountain biking trails. More info.


Water recreation activies on the Lake include boating, fishing, and swimming. Species of fish include black and white crappie, several species of bass, and catfish. There are two areas reserved for swimming where watercraft are prohibited:

  • Meadowmere park
  • Twin Coves park (campers only)
